As a newborn baby and family photographer you have to believe me when I say that I have seen it all! Working with children comes with the unexpected and the chaos and this is exactly what I expect and welcome. The best pictures are styled but authentic. Hopefully this post will help you to prepare for your session and enjoy every moment of it!
HOW SHOULD WE DRESS FOR OUR FAMILY SESSION?
The right colours, fabrics and textures all combine to give the soft and beautiful look that will stand the test of time. I will send you detailed info on the best clothing options for your photography session. What to avoid and what photographs well. I can also provide beautiful fabrics and outfits for newborn photography sessions, as well as some options for young babies too.
WILL OUR HOME BE SUITABLE FOR A PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION?
The simple answer is YES! If you have windows then we're good to go! I have worked as an in-home newborn and baby photographer for 13 years and I have worked in all types of home. If things are tricky with the light then we can always head outside. My newborn photography set up allows me to work close to the windows, allowing the natural light to work its magic.
WE ARE NOT COMFORTABLE IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA!
This is something I hear a lot and I don't want you to worry at all about that! Unless you are a professional model then you are likely to feel a little nervous or self conscious but I have tips to help you to relax. Focussing on your children and playing with them in the moment is the best way to have your picture taken.
WHAT’S THE BEST TIME TO HAVE A SESSION WITH A NEWBORN?
Very sleepy, early newborn photography should be scheduled within the first 3 weeks. But I am aware that this time can some times be difficult and raw for some families, so I can capture similar pictures up to around 12 weeks.
HOW MANY PICTURES WILL WE RECEIVE?
Most clients receive around 60 final images, which are all yours to download. There are no additional charges for all of the high quality digital images. You will receive access to your online viewing gallery approximately 10-14 days after the shoot.
